Good Evening, this is Dena daughter #4 and I have great news. Today was a spectacular day for my mom. When I called this evening to check on her and get a status update from Shay (sister #2) I got nothing but positive news. To start she got her appetite back! She had a great breakfast as well as one of her favorite lunches which is a Pizza Hut thin crust supreme pizza along with her favorite drink an ice cold coke.
Mom continues to surprise me more every day. Though she has her good and bad days, I prefer to hear the good of course, Friends and family It was such a blessing to hear my mom’s voice today. Though it’s not the same conversation as the past, she was able to muster up the energy today to say I love you, I miss you and bye. This may not seem like a lot but for my mom this takes up every bit of energy she has. Most of the time you only get sentences or groups of words after she has rested for a long period of time and her mind has had time to be still and not race with rapid thoughts.
Though every day is still hard for us for we never know if this will be the day she will go to be with the lord. I am happy that I can stay rest assured that this is God’s plan and not mine and I must continue to have faith. I’m confident that not only was my mom an amazing mother but a believer. When her times comes she will be absent in body and present with the Lord. Please continue to pray for her as her journey continues every day with the highs and lows. My sisters and I count everyday as a blessing from God!.
How I wish I could be with her and see her everyday and being away is a challenge for my heart. I’m lucky that I have been able to talk to her and this gives me great peace and comfort. I just can’t wait till we can get internet up and running at Shay’s so I can video conference with her and see her loving face once again.
Please continue to pray for my mom as she has the fight of her life. Pray for my family as we go through the difficult choices that lie ahead, that this will bring us even closer together then ever before. Thank you friends and family for all your support and prayers. My sisters and I would not know what to do without the loving support from our friends and family. We are truly so fortunate. I promise we will write again soon with more updates.
